Immediate Action Needed

What is wrong with me? I have a cabinet full of this:And yet, I continue to use the drawer full of this:I went shopping today (with my reusable bags because I'm not going to let one bad experience at the check out get me down) and came home with bulk items that needed storing in the freezer. I started to reach for the disposable baggies. WAIT, stop. What was I doing? Not using plastic bags at the store only to use them when I got home? How many of us are doing this. Raise your hands, I know I'm not the only one.

I reached for the cabinet of my beloved Tupperware, found 4 containers that will work in the freezer, and packaged up my stuff. I love my Tupperware and am not sure why I don't use it more often. I've been given it as hand me downs, bought some when it used to be in kiosks at the mall, and now I get it off of Ebay. It lasts forever and if it doesn't, they are sure to replace it for you, and it really takes a beating. You can store almost anything in this stuff and yet, I continue to use plastic baggies. I can't promise that it will be an immediate change, but I'm happy to say I didn't use the baggies today. See below? Aren't you proud?

Oh, I love me some Tupperware!! I'm afraid I've become a bit of a plasticware snob. But it's SOOOO durable. It seems a far better value to spend more $$ for something that will last longer, than buying a lot of cheap crap over and over. Especially if you can snag the t-ware at a yard sale. I think my faves are the Fridgesmarts for produce (smallest size is perfect for a quart of berries), and the hard-sided sandwich keepers. Come to think of it, I think I spied a couple of the sandwich keepers in your stash.

Oh - a girl after my own heart! I seriously have a Tupperware problem and I blame it on my parents. They had a distributorship when I was born up through 1984 or so (so I was around it before I could even walk). My mom sold it again while I was in college.

I couldn't hate it if I tried :)

Oh no, there is nothing at all wrong with tupperware! I also buy gladware though, and keep the gladware containers that certain lunchmeats come in. I almost never have baggies around, but bought some recently for some reason... They've lasted a long time though.

My sister use to be a Tupperware dealer! She did really well too- trips, cars etc. Just letting you in on the life of a dealer lol. But I admit using the bags more for my crafting stuff than food- but yes I do also use reusable bags at the store. So thanks for the connection!!

We also have a lot of the lids that don't match the bottoms! Glad to know we're not the only ones. :) have a good weekend ~

Good for you for being aware, at least!! I don't use plastic bags of any kind anymore, from leaving the grocery store, to putting things in the fridge and freezer. Its cheaper, too!!

I laughed at your cabinets. Mine is stuffed full of plastic containers, and when I open my cabinets, everything falls on my head!

I used to have a huge cabinet full of Tupperware. But that was 20 years ago and alot of his has been replaced with Rubbermaid containers I would buy at BJ's wholesale.

I especially like the clear containers so I can see what's in them because if I can't see it, I don't use it and the leftovers end up going bad before being used up.

I too, have been using baggies more lately. Thanks for the little reminder to scale back on that!
