What a romantic day today can be for so many people. Gifts are exchanged, jewelry given, candy consumed (or in the case of my Sweet and I, we had heart shaped pizza), and flowers presented. It is a great time of year to give and exchange gifts. My Etsy street team, AREtsy, did just that. Sally, over at
Dogwood Lane, organized a Valentine's Day swap between AREtsy members. Something that took a few hours to make, something fun, something cute, something handmade.
I sent a bracelet and some earrings over to Denise - you can read about it at her
blog. I was proud of my gifts to her and was extremely happy she was in love with them. During all of this time, I dreamed (yes, dreamed) about what I would get. We have so many talented and amazing crafters/artists among the group that any of the members would have been perfect. When I received my item in the mail, my expectations were surpassed. Rita, 0ver at
Ms. Rita's Beads, had outdone herself. I received the most beautiful heart shaped, lamp work bead on an adjustable necklace. How did she know that I LOVE necklaces more than anything else? Even my Sweet was highly impressed, it's sometimes hard to do that. Go check out her shop - everything in there is lovely.

I'll be updated my shop with three new versions of one of my newest necklace designs, "Falling Leaves". I love making this necklace as it allows me to use some of my fancier beads that don't
really fit into my bracelets. I could make them all day, unfortunately, I'm out of leaf charms. Until I find more, I suppose I'll have to work on other things... like packing my house for the move.
For a portion of this afternoon, I felt like a celebrity. No, not the kind who go to rehab before they are even old enough to legally drink, but the Etsy kind. A fellow member of AREtsy and my coworker, BeadedBombshell, let me in on a little secret this afternoon. One of my bracelets had made it to the front page.
(I'll wait until it's a wee bit warmer) and the arugala (scheduled for tomorrow), I have nothing left to do but wait. The seeds will need to grow for a couple of weeks indoors before being ready to move outside to aclimate them to that environment.

After taking many batches of photos for my Etsy shop that I was quite proud of, I figured it was time to get rid of the unsavory photos and replace them all. Anytime I use the word "replace" that usually means it will take the bulk of my day to do. This was no exception.

I've spent a bit of "me" time for the past couple of nights and this is the product. I like it. It's a first attempt at making designs on knit items with felt BUT I had fun and will be practicing. It's only 7 months until The Clothes Line Fair - where these might make their debut (unless I get impatient and list them in Etsy when they look like I want them to).
My gardening post with the lovely pics of my herbs from last summer got more comments than any post I've had so far. I'm not sure if I can top that. Perhaps an upcoming giveaway would bring them flocking again? Stay tuned for that.
The world does not revolve around silver earrings alone. My shop consists of many bracelets in both silver tones and coppers. However, due to lack of supplies in any other type of metal, my earrings, except one pair, have been all in silver tones. I first made some in copper a few weeks ago. I posted them in my shop as they had a matching bracelet that needed a companion in the shop. The views were good and someone even expressed interest in them, but they are still there. Seeing as how they didn't fly off of the shelf, I wasn't eager to make a bunch more in copper.

I've talked about AREtsy in my blog before. If you have time, you can go back and see many of the wonderful shops that make it up, if you are lazy, then I'll give you a quick description of AREtsy. AREtsy is an Etsy Street Team for the state of Arkansas. That's it, simple, easy, and explanation is over. It's made up of so many great shops that I hardly have need to purchase outside of the group when I need something fun to spin into yarn, or something fun to wear, write on, look at, etc.
